Daily Bedroom Cleaning Tasks
There’s so specific order you need to clean in when simply maintaining a tidy home between cleaning services. You can start at the back of the home and work your way to the front or clean room by room. Our checklist starts with the bedrooms.
It’s ideal to tidy up the bedroom first thing in the morning and right before bed. Here’s what you need to know.
The Bed
Start by making your bed each morning. This is a good way to start your day off right. A messy bed can make even the cleanest of rooms look messy.
Clothing Items
If there are any clothes on the floor from the night before, then make sure to pick them up and place them in the laundry basket or washing machine to start a new load of laundry. Hang and fold any clean clothing items that are out of place.
The Nightstand
Any food, cups, books, and other items left on top of your nightstand should now be put away. Don’t place all items inside the nightstand drawer if that’s not their proper place. Make sure to put the jewelry back in the jewelry box, cups in the kitchen, and so on.
The Floor
Vacuum and spot mop the floors if needed. Dirt and crumbs if not cleaned right away can leave stains or attract pests.
Daily Bathroom Cleaning Tasks
Cleaning the bathroom might seem like the last thing any homeowner wants to do. Bathroom cleaning doesn’t have to be gross or time-consuming when you conduct light cleaning every day and schedule cleaning services. Here’s what you can do!
The Sink and Faucet
Each time after using the sink, wipe down the faucet and sink basin. This will prevent water stains and toothpaste stains from forming. You can keep a small container of wipes or paper towels nearby to do so.
The Mirrors
Quickly wipe clean any spots on the mirrors. Use a window/glass cleaner to ensure the spots are removed and don’t come back.
The Toilet
Use a disinfectant cloth to wipe the entire outside of the toilet clean. Pay close attention to the knobs at the bottom of the toilet that hold it to the floor. Wipe the toilet seat clean as well with a new cloth and quickly scrub the inside of the bowl clean using a disposable toilet cleaning wand if needed.
The Shower/Tub
Use a shower spray to spray the entire shower, bathtub, and showerhead. Let the spray sit for several minutes before using a clean cloth to wipe them down. Rinse clean.
You should do this after each shower or bath to prevent soap scum from building up.
Towels
Check all towels in the bathroom for dirt, makeup stains, or regular wear and tear from daily use. Replace towels with clean ones if needed and place the other ones in the laundry.
The Floor
Dirt, dust, and sand are commonly found on bathroom floors. When you undress to get into the shower, all of the dirt particles from your clothes end up on the floor. Sweep and mop as needed.
Daily Kitchen Cleaning Tasks
The dirtiest room in your home isn’t the bathroom. It’s the kitchen. Conducting daily kitchen cleaning tasks is essential to preventing the spread of bacteria and other germs.
Here are a few kitchen cleaning tasks you should do each day.
The Sink and Dishwasher
Don’t let dirty dishes sit in the sink and collect germs. Place dishes in the dishwasher after using or rinse them clean at the least. Run the dishwasher after cleaning the sink with a sink cleaner.
Consider wiping down the inside of the dishwasher as well if needed.
The Microwave
Clean the inside of the microwave. Remove the microwave plate and place it in the dishwasher for easy cleaning. Wipe down the outside of the microwave as well.
Countertops and Appliances
Clean all countertop surfaces and appliances using a sanitizing cleaner. Use paper towels or switch between clean cloths as needed to prevent the spreading of germs.
Dish Towels
If the dish towels appear overused or dirty, then replace these with new ones. Place the dirty ones in the laundry.
The Floor
Clean the floor last. This ensures any crumbs that fell from the countertops are removed from the floor. Sweep and mop as needed.
Daily Living Room Cleaning Tasks
Your living room most likely gets a lot of daily activity. To keep things tidy, there are only a few quick cleaning tasks you’ll need to do.
The Couch
Rearrange the throw pillows on the couch. These pillows can make the couch and entire living room look well put together when arranged neatly. Fold any couch blankets as well.
The Coffee Table
Remove any items from the coffee table and put them back in their place. It’s ideal to do this every night so you don’t have to worry about it in the morning. Wipe the table down using an appropriate cleaner for the type of material it is.
Miscellaneous Items
Any miscellaneous items laying around the living room should be put back in their place as well. Have each family member collect their belongings. Sanitize remotes.
The Floor
Check the floor for dirt and crumbs. Remove any small children’s toys, dog toys, and other items. Vacuum and mop if possible.
